Good luck to Neil & Nikki
Saturday was my brother-in-law Neil's wedding held at Weston Manor near Bicester, Oxfordshire. The meal was great fun with everyone taking advantage of the toys with noisy balloons and airplanes zooming around annoying the waiters.
The bride, Nikki looked stunning, just a shame the rain came down at the time of photos - lucky I was the bride's caddy sheltering her from the weather with a hotel brolly.
Neil surprised both Kevin, the best man and myself at the meal, the night before. Kev had forgotten his cufflinks and Neil presented a thank-you gift for his next day duties. Out popped a pair of gold Armani cufflinks - lucky boy!
Me, I got a very stylish Ted Baker wallet but like my own wedding he spoiled me with a cheeky piece of official paper inside saying travel cheque stating a high amount of Japanese Yen.
The wedding day itself went very well with only the rain forcing the photos to go to Plan B plus the respectful memory of the past week's events for the family still fresh in people's minds. A toast in Neil's thank you speech for the family's mum.
Kevin's speech was excellent and proved popular with everyone.
The disco was...typical of a wedding playing every tune a wedding disco had to have. Only when 'Come on Eileen' came on did the party really start thanks to us! About 4 more tunes in did I search thru the DJ's collection picking out what best I could though he still didn't play. Low points in his wedding mash-up was Cotton-eyed Joe, Status Quo, various mega-mixes i.e. Jive Bunny and Grease and the truly law breakingly bad last tune 'Lady in Red'. At that point the DJ was nearly lynched and the crowd won requesting Robbie Williams' Angels.
Sunday was another family celebration of niece Morgan where she was treated to a Weatherspoon's meal and the rest of her birthday presents from Kev & Karol and me & Kerry.
