Morgan's day
Last weekend was spent with Kerry's family in Plymouth and Exeter. First up was with Donna, Kerry's sister.
Didn't have much of a plan Saturday but started with me surrounded by kids looking at me and Morgan playing Nintendogs on the Gameboy DS.
Headed into town and visited Santa's Grotto as a treat for Morgan, our favourite (well only) niece. It was the local Co-op department store, Derrys that hosted the Xmas HQ on the 3rd floor. Signs from the ground floor directed us using penguin foot prints leading us upstairs. We played the investigating game with Morgan to guess which animal left the prints though she missed a vital clue that the walls of the grotto had penguins on it. Ice Age, the animated film was being played as a tenuous link with Santa. As we queued up I made up a Christmas law that stated 'good children received nice presents and bad children received fish from the Xmas penguins, which Morgan lapped up innocently. Oh what a bad boy I am!!!! Inside the grotto we were treated to some animatronics with waving polar bears, penguins and strange elfs all under a blue UV light. Morgan was entranced and was convinced they were all real - wow, to be 4 again! After spoiling Morgan with fake snow and flapping penguins we finally got to meet the jolly, black welly wearing, cornish accented Father Christmas. He made the mistake that we were her parents and picked her up for the classic knee photo opportunity. Morgan didn't really know what she wanted for Xmas so went a little shy.
After Mr. Chrimbo's visit Morgan pointed out that his glove had a hole in it - oh dear. The previous owner must have worn it out from all the whistle-blow, pill taking days.
After that we walked down to the Plymouth Hoe which I hadn't been since the sun's eclipse years ago. Kerry took on the 'cool auntie' role playing side step walking and penguin walking.
Sunday was back to Exeter to see Kerry's nan where we were treated to a Sunday roast and alot of tea cakes etc. She's got some great pictures displayed in her front room. A little bit like dogs playing poker or pool, they had cats doing famous parts in Shakespeare plays.
Other than that its been a bit dull with work being very quiet. Ebay stuff going well making a nice profit on Mario Karts bought from Japan.
