Comedy suicide

Managed to watch Snuffbox last night and looks like another comedy suicide. You can so tell that Fulcher and Berry wrote the material with Berry's English surrealism blended with the perverse and a little too crude humour of Fulcher. The format of the show was quite clever using the central characters and a plot using their unusual relationship to link each episode, whilst filling it with a mixture of random sketches and character background. If you remember Bang Bang Its Reeves and Mortimer you'll know how random some of their sketches were and for me both just missed the funny target.

The crudeness gets a little uncomfortable at times peaking at the Le Piss and Le Poo fashion sketches whilst other sections rely on Fulcher's attempts at characters that are one-dimensional. There were a couple of laughs with Rich Fulcher's date observer sketches and his time-travel back to 1888, simulating his personal problem to the Victorian ancestor of Berry (here Berry used his best accent, his voice) but if you're expecting any similarity in humour or quality to the Mighty Boosh or even Garth Merenghi then you need to dodge this sitcom noose. I will be watching the next episode but only out of curiosity as Berry tries to kill Fulcher for his inheritance.

Oh man! when will they learn!!!
I watched the first 4 episodes of Boosh 2 last night.... really disappointing :(
It's just not the same in feeling or content. They've lost 2 great characters and the whole just doin nothing aspect that they had in the zoo... there's a crazy focus on songs which are crap, and the scenes are way too long and drawn out... and there's no curtian. Why do they always change the things that make the show work to attempt to make it better? Makes me so sad :(

Right on sister! Second series was definately a disappointment. The last 2 episodes are quite interesting. The character 'Old Greg' (check out the live show photos on my FlickR site) might make you laugh and the Coconut hysteria episode is just mad and worth a look.
