No sleep til Saturday

No time was spared to get home and go straight out again for Viv's Friday night birthday celebration. Kerry was already at the Market bar with everyone else whilst I battled against the South London rush hour. Parked at K & K's to grab the 8pm train and some complete stranger decided to tell me all about an old friend's funeral he would be attending. Nice guy but completely random. When I did arrive at the bar, the bouncer refused to let me downstairs due to overcrowding and pointed me to the bar. Luckily it only took another 5 minutes to join the rest. It always feels a bit awkward arriving late when everyone's four rounds in front. Had to put up with George's son teenage-drink ranting cockiness until he fell asleep. By which time everyone was in a mood to head back home for a impromptu party. I struggled for awhile DJing, using Kev's records but finally started finding the good stuff. If it wasn't for the mortgage appointment the next day a serious bender would have continued. Left Kev a little worse for wear having to rely on mix albums to pick out record playing order.

Majority of Saturday was sleep with only the mortgage appointment to deal with. Watched Pan's Labyrinth which good and worth watching but a tiny sense of let down from all the rave reviews. Perhaps I was hoping more fantasy content but the gory violence was very well done. Sunday was bit crap with a walk around a boggy New Forest.

TV is getting quite good lately. Lost is recoperating from the bland series start-up, Heroes on Sci-fi has also really grown on me. Life on Mars missed an excellent opportunity to go full speed with Camblewick Green. And welcome back Japanorama. This week was about Ai (love) and Koi (romance) and just emphasises how twisted Japanese can be with sexual deviations. Host bars were always popular but a new trend for wealthy women to be entertained and the wierder ones seeking the company of women with beards! Other lo-lights were Manga comics having men loving each other for a target audience of romance-loving women - it's just so wrong!
