Wii addiictiion

My day off work started with a slight pang of paranoia. BBC News got me worried with stories of Wii shortages even for those who had pre-ordered. At 9:30am I was in shop picking it up. Wasn't allowed to open it until I picked up Kerry from the airport. Finally opened it at 11:55am. Setting up was easy and the machine itself was tiny, even the remotes were half the size of other remotes. Spent too long creating the avatars or Miis for the Bartlett family reunion and not enough time testing out the games. The image above is not the Wii one but a web flash version.

Friday night was just drinking beer, eating pizza and playing Wii - which I bet a lot of people were doing. Wii Play was a really simple introduction to the controls. It was only the extra remote we bought it for otherwise I wouldn't bother. Oh yeah, Donna's house was amazing, a 5 floored new build and a big living room perfect for playing more Wii!

Wii Sports went down a lot better than I thought. Tennis was the best, Bowling got good marks, Golf is interesting but lacks the pace of Tennis. Boxing and Baseball were the weakest games but still good fun.

Saturday went into Plymouth - impressed by Drakes shopping centre - spotted a guy driving a Sinclair C5 with the brightest yellow rain coat. They must be worth more than a 10 year old car (the C5 that is not the coat)?!

The afternoon was another Wii-athon then the evening at Café Rouge for a meal. Got back at 11:15pm with Neil, Kerry's bro requesting a game of tennis!

On the way back home we stopped for petrol. As I washed my hands after the toilet, Father Christmas in civvys walked in with a big smile commenting on how posh the place looked. Three questions went through my mind at the time: 1. Obviously you haven't been in many public toilets as this one is possibly the shabbiest, 2. It must be a busy time of year for you?, 3. Can I have a Ferrari for Christmas? Driving out of the car park I saw him with a road map getting into an old white Micra. Must have been sussing out the new build estates and chimney arrangements.

As soon as we got home, the Wii was set up and Zelda straight on. We even recorded Lost to maximise play time. Looks like II'll bii playiing iit untiil Februarii. IIviin at work II can't stop thiinkiing about iit.
