Ibiza Day 4: Spaced out Sunday
Another long lie-in to recooperate the energy needed for We Love Space. To be honest I wasn't really up for it that day. Dancing in the daytime just feels wrong so spent most of the time wondering around the club. But things got a bit better, as they do ;), though Kerry had a rough patch spending more time in the chill out area. The terrace area was packed with more anthem tunes bashed out. Some of the DJs mind were slightly hopeless at basic mixing supporting my lack of interest for the place. Discovered the Electric Lady Lounge which was completely empty. Later we received a flyer promoting that very room so you could tell they were desparate for punters that night. Smoking Jo was in the main room occompanied by her famous girlfriend, Skin from Skunk Anansie. The music, similar to Tom Stephan, was a minimal techno, driving sound, not like the dull bleepy stuff. It worked well in the club but wouldn't really interest me in the car or headphones. Dancers were quite varied with some distributing free fans. Another tranny impressing the beer boys with his pole-dancing and one really weird Andrew Lloyd-Webber moment with a dancer dressed in a Cats outfit, a mini-top hat and fur ears, make-up, the lot.
Met some great lads from Nottingham who shared some laughs and local produce. They were doing the long run going on to another club after. By 3am people wanted to go which I didn't expect and got the same dodgy cab driven by new French friend, Nico. Another stereo-type sweeping statement was asked as Nico came from Brittany. He'd never worked on the ferries apparently. When we arrived back to the flat, Paul and Sarah's new friend from New York, Donna was waiting for a catchup. Wasn't quite sure of her at first talking about pet dogs and family problems, having just come out of a mash-up but the coversation turned to conspiracies and British TV which entertained us until daylight.
