Dumped by bitch-in-lowprofiles

Sunday was another low action day biking around Southampton. There was an Ideal Home show on the Common but looked rubbish especially as it was a fiver to get in. Instead we headed into town and treated ourselves to a Fopp shop. I can't stop listening to Modular presents: Leave them all behind, a superb mix of indie stuff which has some driving, danceable remixes. Bought The Kills album, No Wow based on the Good Ones track but the remix spoilt my house-head so another CD for the bargain bin. Other purchases were DJ Kicks Exclusives, DFA Remixes album and Miyazaki DVDs, My Neighbour Totoro (which was a tiny bit disappointing) and Princess Mononoke.
Last night Dara O'Briain was performing his stand-up show at the University. First time we'd been to the Nuffield theatre. As we approached I couldn't get over how many old, middle-classed gits were going to the same gig probably thanks to Have I got news for you. Only a fifth of the audience were students. Dara's style was fast, fluid and chatty to the front rows picking up odd subjects the audience fed him and fueling his routine adding his own life gripes. Luckily, his main targets were a mature student studying forensic science and a Navy worker who was based at HQ. Couldn't believe he was the same age as me blessing my moisturizer and limited beer-and-burger intake.
