Fonejacker

Whilst we were glued to Lost on E4 last night we recorded a new Channel 4 comedy called Fonejacker. If anyone remembers Victor Lewis-Smith's crank calls you'll know what I mean. Here's the synopsis from the Channel 4 website:-

COMEDY LAB: FONEJACKER: 11pm Comedy Lab, Channel 4's unique televisual experiment which unearths the comedy stars of tomorrow, returns for its ninth year with eight new episodes across the week. Previous uncovered talent includes Peter Kay, Jimmy Carr, Dom Joly and Big Brother's Big Mouth presenter Russell Brand. Addicted to prank calling, Fonejacker is a man who takes on various guises to satisfy his need to scam and confuse anyone at the end of a phone line. Recurring characters include George the African Scamster, an amiable chap who rings to let you know that you have won a cash prize, funded by the 1ps and 2ps that people have collected in jars and forgotten about. In order to obtain your cash prize all you have to do is give George your sort code, bank account number and your mother's maiden name and he can wire the money to you direct. Using animation, stills and recorded footage of the prank victims, Fonejacker also takes transcripts of calls, treats them as film scripts and gives them the Hollywood treatment.

Unfortunately this was a one-off episode but with an email to Channel 4 could get it commissioned for more. Check out the Fonejacker website for the trailers to get a taste if you missed it.

Another thing that made me laugh today is this Star Wars p!ss-take.
