Found some great web content this week and for anyone not following me on Twitter or Facebook here's a summary of what I've found this week. Neither of us wanted to cook Friday night so we headed over to Jamie Oliver's restaurant hoping the queue would be short before 7:30pm. How wrong we were as it looked like an hour's wait. Instead we headed over Moshi Moshi , the Japanese restaurant located near the city hall. First impressions were a little tainted. Maybe they could do with some decor update and they didn't serve Kirin or Shochu which is scandalous in my book. Still the conveyor belt of sushi was quite fun to look at and the food itself very tasty and reasonable in price - I'd strongly recommend anything teriyaki there. Would I go back? Probably no as Oki-nami offer a better drinks selection and better placed in town, plus Wagamama has perfected its food quality and offers a better atmosphere. We ended the night in the Om bar for some 2 for 1 cocktails. They seem to have reduced the choice and menu size but still managed to have some delicious bargain booze.

Last Sunday I had a shopping splurge buying this T-shirt. Completely mad design and just thought it was from the mind of some weird designer trying to combine a Star Wars reference and other random things. As I described it to a work colleague I decided to type in the above heading as keywords into Google to see what would come up. Amazingly, the image is actually a Tim Burton film that was only once transmitted on the Disney Channel and has never been seen again. Treated ourselves to some Japanese culture last night. With a tasty BOGOF meal at Wagamamas for dinner we bought tickets to see the Yamato drummers at the Brighton Dome . The warning posters mentioned 100 decibels and staff were handing out earplugs which was a good sign though it never got that painful or ringing. The bass sound-waves did ripple across the theatre with seat fixtures rattling at the beat of the largest drums. Two hours of drumming does sound a bit much but they combined some funny bits of pretend tennis playing, some miniature symbol shinanigins, some rockstar mandolin action and obviously full on drumming action. Prepare to get your hands sore after all the clapping as well as they were big on audience participation. According to their Yamato website they've already done London for a few nights so you'll just have enjoy the YouTube video or even travel out of town. I also noticed their Jap-lish for the summer months scheduling as 'Undecidedness'.

So I've been doing a million and one things in preparation for the holiday, house move, parent problems ( Orange screwing over my dad's email ) and obviously my 9 to 5 work to stop me updating the blog. Last weekend was just tidying the flat and packing. Watched Bourne Identity and the follow up which we avoided for some reason (Matt Damon maybe), and was pleasantly surprised how good they are. Maybe we'll see the third one on the plane to NZ. Kanye West has wound me up for the third time. The first was his tizzy-fit at not winning best video last year and dissing Justice vs. Simian . Secondly, for stealing Harder, Faster etc., though I should blame the French robots in disguise, Daft Punk for allowing it. Is this his warped sense of respect to French house music? But it's only since seeing the Stronger video was I slightly riled after noticing him copying scenes from Akira . Last week was the games industry’s yearly showcase which normally I get quite excited about. However with all the moving, new job and lack of broadband at home (I’m this short of writing a letter to Watchdog at the moment), keeping an eye on all this has proved too difficult. What I have seen has proven that Nintendo are still on top of their innovation game. Pictured is their new hardware gizmo, project-named balance-board for their next big, open to all generations software – Wii Fit . Yoga is being demonstrated here otherwise you could use it as a step machine. However one 3 rd party developer has seen the potential to develop it with extreme sports i.e. snowboarding, skateboarding etc. The other game to create a crappy holiday-countdown-like-thing to bug your work colleagues is Resident Evil 5 . Yesterday was another mini-peak of stress and hard decision-making. Sunday we saw the tipi-lady's flat for sub-let. It was ok but couldn't have post delivered there. Spent most the day around the Laines. Checked out the Artrepublic which is where the Banksy picture got stolen . Noticed that our framed Kozyndan prints (one of them pictured) were worth a bit more. Finally got some news on the house chain. People we're buying off got fed up themselves and put an offer on another property. Good to hear but just confirms that they'll be another chain on top of that. What I thought was going to be an escape plan has fallen short. The Uni of Sussex offered us a flat which is just a glorified bedsit. They wouldn't let us view the flat either. I googled the residence name, East Slope and there's chatrooms saying how much of a hole it is and how many parties there are. If you're a fan of mugging, car-jacking or shooting innocent people and you were rich enough (or mug enough) to buy a PS3 then you should be excited about the new Grand Theft Auto IV trailer just released. This next gen version is based in New York with some amazing detail and the best landmarks pixelated for HD. It sounds like the central character is an East European mafia type who's into human trafficking. Personally I'd rather wait until at least £100 gets knocked off the price and await some more positive game reviews. YouTube scum Over the last few weeks I have some w**nkers leave some non-supportive comments on my YouTube video of my karate tournament fight. Although I'm not 100% behind the club ethos it doesn't mean people can graffiti my site with anti-GKR slurs. No time was spared to get home and go straight out again for Viv's Friday night birthday celebration. Kerry was already at the Market bar with everyone else whilst I battled against the South London rush hour. Parked at K & K's to grab the 8pm train and some complete stranger decided to tell me all about an old friend's funeral he would be attending. Nice guy but completely random. When I did arrive at the bar, the bouncer refused to let me downstairs due to overcrowding and pointed me to the bar. Luckily it only took another 5 minutes to join the rest. It always feels a bit awkward arriving late when everyone's four rounds in front. Had to put up with George's son teenage-drink ranting cockiness until he fell asleep. Lots and Lost to talk about (see what I did there? Not a spelling mistake but a play on words. Eh, clever hmm what?) The weekend started with the arrival of my Dad and his girlfriend, Gail. Had only met her once for about 10 minutes and didn't come away with a good impression. My over-grown doubts and worries of hating her were soon driven away and found out alot more about her over a Kutis curry than I sometimes know about my dad. Kutis do amazing Indian food including Venison Masala. The other thing which is worth going there is for the traditional curly sandaled waiters like Ali Baba. Saturday morning was a rude awakening at 8am as Coleman Snr was keen to get down to the boatshow, the biggest annual event Southampton ever puts on (another reason to move out). So big that Paul and Sarah couldn't get a hotel, B&B or bush to lie under that weekend. Whilst on holiday in Japan last year we were able to witness some strange stuff on telly. Now after trawling through both YouTube and Metacafe I can finally prove to you such weirdness did happen. Here's a taster for you:- Do not laugh - Contestants get punished for laughing Hard Gay Part 1 , Part 2 and Part 3 - Dressed in a kinky biker outfit, this TV personality goes round Japan surprising people with problems. His catchphrase is 'Woo!' whilst jiggling his bits More Hard Gay (see video below) - Another personal problem sorted. This is the funniest one! A good example of Kaso Taisho - if you remember the Pepsi Max advert with the kung-fu sequence, this is where they nicked the idea. Show TV Karate Gachapin - After seeing this at the Fuji TV studios in Tokyo I bought the DVD for this kid's programme. Unfortunately it was a bit of an overload. (See 6th Oct 05)

What I thought was hayfever all day Friday was in fact a crappy, stinking cold which ruined my plans for the weekend. Boredom switched on Resident Evil 4 which served well almost all weekend. In the evening we tried to rent Lady Vengence but came away with the first of the three Korean revenge films, Sympathy for Mr. Vengence . We'd bought Old Boy and were well impressed by its style and multi-twisting plot so expected more the same here. Chan-Wook Park directed it with his usual excellent style and originality but it wasn't the sort of thing you needed if you'd recently needed a kidney transplant, had your daughter kidnapped or just coming off the happiness prescription. As I said there's some great moments of shock, originality and vengence ideas with a last minute twist for the Korean's trademark. Woke up at 4am to the noisiest b@stards singing and screaming from the hotel corridor outside our room. Wouldn’t have minded but we had to be up at 5:15am to get our flight home. Reception half useless and by the time things had quietened down we had to get up anyway. Took the subway to Shinjuku station and was amazed at the number of homeless sleeping in the station. Flight home was full of Japanese sniffers and snorters much to the disgust of Kerry who took great delight at blowing her nose defending herself that it was no-man’s land and had a right to behave British. Watched Batman Begins (v.good), Festival (good) and War of the Worlds (2nd time, still good).

Today was our last chance to some souvenir and gift shopping so went straight to Harajuku for Oriental Bizarre (for gifts) and Kiddyland (big toy shop). Stopped for lunch at Pizza Express again and got served by same English waiter (sod it we were hungry!) then continued shopping picking up 2 new watches and some T-shirts for Kerry. There some roadworks happening under the main road through Harajuku and noticed that Japanese workmen are just a scruffy as the British but wear really baggy trousers instead of our builder-bum jean look. Back over to Roppongi Hills for TV Asahi shop and found Matthew’s Best TV merchandise which was featured in Lost in Translation. He’s a bit like Graham Norton but with louder suits and weirder TV graphics. Headed over to Ginza to see the latest Sony products at their flagship store.
