The Mighty Boosh new live show review

Image
Thanks to my Modwolves fan club connections I managed to win exclusive tickets to see the brand new live show from the Mighty Boosh on Saturday. After our (unsuccessful) Thames boat ride we made our way over to 3 Mills TV studios in Bromley on Bow. If you don't want to know what's in the new live show then you'd best not read this as it will spoil the surprise. However if you want to know a summary of how it went then I'll say now, the performance was slightly worrying with only a week to go. There's a lot more mini-sketches and no real story compared to the previous tour. There's some great gags, some surprises but if it wasn't for their natural talent and personality the show would be slightly disappointing. Hopefully they'll put in some practice, improve the sketches that didn't quite work and maybe even come up with some new ideas. So, if you really don't want to know what happens in the show stop reading now, you have been warned. Mighty Boo...

McDojo Mafia?

Another skint weekend. Saturday had the worst timing of a down-pour of rain. Sunday I went upto Dorking to see the man behind the karate club I'm a member of. 'Kancho' Robert Sullivan was giving a rare class in the UK. He comes over from Australia about twice a year and created the G o- K an- R yu ( GKR ) club about 20 years ago. I've always been a little cynical about the club thinking its the McDonalds of karate with a pyramid selling business etiquette. Bit of background for you. More than 2 years ago, my sensei knocked on my door 'selling' the club. His sales pitch was well rehearsed and practised though I always remember questioning him on some points with his responses just repeating parts of his patter which I just put it down to a hammy technique. Still, I wanted to get back into shape and was unimpressed by the other local clubs. It was reasonable too and within a few months I had removed alot of belly bulk. A few months in, I was asked to join the c...

More FlickR freaks

Image
DSC_0214F Originally uploaded by Ginger DJ . Okay, this is getting creepy. This is the second fetish freak I've come across who's been stalking my FlickR photos. The Sock Fetish was just odd ( see my previous blog entry ). This time, well I'll let you decide if I should do anything to stop this stalking. FlickR has the function to check the recent activity of your photos i.e. how many views, how many have been made a favourite, comments made etc. Today this photo of me in a helicopter has been made a favourite for another FlickR user. Why? Its not a great shot so could it be the helicopter, the pilot, me?? I follow the link trail to find out who liked it that much to save it as favourite. Someone called Asicsboy who only takes photos of his Asics trainers and one of him in a mask. Another foot fetish freak! But no, the creepiness continues. His profile reads: "Guy into sneakers, headphones, hearing protectors/ear muffs and face masks...I'm Male and Single. U...
